…Well not really the black man but all people of color.
I just recently watched the newly released trailer of “EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS”, which tells the story of Moses going back to Egypt and trying to get the Pharaoh to release the slaves. A classic bible tale that everyone knows.
But what grinds my gears, are the cast. Christina Bale is Moses, Joel Edgerton is Rhamses, Chris Paul is Joshua and Sigourney Weaver is playing an Egyptian royal named Tuya, all of whom are white actors or their ancestry stems from European country.
Of course, in the trailer, you can some East Indians playing secondary characters like Guards, soldiers, village people but how in the hell can you cast a white male to play Moses. A proper depiction would be a person of color in some right.
IDK, maybe I’m being too harsh, but they did the same thing with casting Russell Crowe to play Noah and Emma Watson as his daughter. Furthermore, why in the hell does Rhamses have an English accent like he’s from London somewhere. You’re an Egypt you dumb asses not England.
I’m getting tired of the lack of diversity in Hollywood.
